Shared Hosting

Our shared hosting services are provisioned on our High Availability Hardware platform.

Each of our shared web servers use Xeon Quad Core Processors and are designed to host hundreds of websites with ample resources and headroom.

You can choose to host your website with us on either a Windows (IIS) or Linux (Apache) web server.

Your website content is stored on High Availability RAIDED SAN units - these currently being DotHill and EMC Clarions. Each SAN unit has multiple paths on to our Fibre channel network. In addition, our Fibre channel network is fully redundant in that, should any switch fail, the fibre channel network is preserved.

In the event of a web server failure our systems will provision your website via alternative hardware with minimal downtime - usually minutes.

Each web server also has multiple paths to our core network and the Internet.

Server Monitoring:
All shared web servers are carefully monitored 24 x 7, the primary objective being to minimise potential issues caused by websites monopolising resources. This does not necessarily mean a website is particularly busy but that its scripts are not optimised and therefore uses more resources.
